Owned and operated by experts who have spent years in the senior care arena, Turas Hospice is named for the Gaelic word for “journey.” It’s emblematic to the highly personalized, patient-centric end of life experience along the journey of patients, whether they need hospice care or palliative care. Our compassionate interdisciplinary Journey Care Team follows a broad philosophy that even in the darkest hour…there is light. We address a patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual uniqueness.

Putting together a caring and compassionate interdisciplinary Journey Care Team, the goal at Turas Hospice is creating personalized care plans for each patient that focus on quality of life, not the disease.
This physician oversees every aspect of a patient’s care plan and works with each team member to make sure a patient’s physical, spiritual and emotional needs are being served.
A doctor to attend to the physical needs of the patient, to make sure their comfort level is addressed through medication, and to oversee their care when admitted to the hospital or senior care facility.
Through every step of hospice care, the clinical manager supports clinical functions, business decisions and leadership development in staff training and patient care management.
The RN Case Manager’s team will make each day comfortable for the patient. They will prescribe treatments, diagnose conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs and record symptoms and health histories.
Their role is to oversee and coordinate all personalized care services, helping patients and families cope through counseling, helping them access community resources, and setting goals for care.
These workers manage a patient’s daily living tasks and personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and light housekeeping if needed.
To address spiritual and religious needs, our Chaplain leads patients to explore their faith and find meaning to their life and acceptance for their eventual afterlife.
An important role on the team, these unsung heroes spend their time visiting with patients and caregivers and providing meaningful conversations and thoughtful interactions.

Got a question? We’re here to help.
When patients are seriously ill or suffering from an injury and there’s a clinical plan in place, even if they are not at the end of life, palliative care provides a way of caring for them focusing on quality of life.
Turas Hospice will bill Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance directly and be reimbursed by them. Co-pays and deductibles may apply and will be discussed with the patient prior to admittance to the hospice.
Hospice care is a philosophy that treats the patient rather than the disease, with an emphasis on quality of life. During the last six months of life, the focus shifts from clinical care to the emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and their family. Hospice care is comfort care, without the curative intent by either the patient’s choice to not undergo treatment or due to the side effects outweighing the benefit.
